things i’ve learned from people and places

our God is the ultimate creative.

in the beginning he made the heavens and the earth

land and sea

birds and animals

man and woman

you and me

He is the God of creation

He created us in his image

yet, not one of us is the same

He is a God of intentionality

we were all made uniquely different, by purpose and for a purpose

and from this - there is so much to learn

perspective to gain

love to grow

i think one of the greatest blessings in this sweet life I live is getting to learn from different cultures, peoples, and places.

it’s one of my favorite things to take note of whenever I’m venturing somewhere new.

it’s one of the gifts i hold so close to my heart as i travel

and its one of the most beautiful aspects of creation

because we praise the God of creation. and the God of creation created us. he said we are very good. each with different dreams, desires, passions, and ambitions. each in his image, unique, yet beautiful.

each one necessary for the kingdom.

each one necessary for each other.

because we were never meant to live this life on our own. the Lord intended for us to be people of community.

im blessed to be in an intercultural community. i’ve lived with people of different nations, i have been to some pretty cool places, and i dream of the day i get to book a ticket to the next one.

this is what my heart beats for. to love and be loved. to know and to be known. first by my creator. and second by his creation.

i have gotten to know and love people from all over the world.

i’ve heard people’s stories. i’ve been marked by their generosity, kindness, and humility. my heart has fallen deeply in love with places across the globe. i know random words in other languages. i’ve excitedly stepped into traditions of different cultures. i’ve been inspired by people who live life differently than what feels comfortable to me. my eyes have seen new perspectives. and i’ve learned that there is a whole world beyond what i know.
